MAKING YOUR BOOKS! 4-week Workshop Series

This Book Arts Workshop series will take you through the process of designing and making your own book! Learn how to go from a model to a finished book, considering typography, media, structure, etc. Along the way you’ll have the opportunity to learn four different sets of skills to help you. Mark will also be coaching you one-on-one throughout the workshops as you work on your own book.

Learn this Easy & Exciting way to make decorated papers for collage & book binding!

Bring some new adventure to your book making! NOTE: Make a marbled *Valentine HEART today! Participants will explore Marbling and expand their knowledge regarding its many possibilities! Mark will demo a number of Marbling patterns and go over basic materials needed - from buying the paints and thickener to “floating” the colors. He’ll also show and demo a number of Book Structures that can be made with the marbled papers (* including a HEART pop-up - shown above!)

Mark Wangberg has a lifelong passion for book making and marbling. He is especially good at coaching people new to marbling and books, and those who want to improve their skills and knowledge. He holds an MFA in Book Arts and Printmaking from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and has exhibited nationally and internationally. Recently he has been involved in giving book and paper making workshops in Africa and the Amazon. He founded Jack-In-The-Box Press in 1972.
